Butaca Oberta is a program promoted by the Valencian Institute of Culture (IVC) since 2016, under the strategic axis of Democratization and Access to Culture.

It seeks to build a bridge between the social and cultural fields to meet the need and opportunity of promoting the cultural participation of people who are furthest away from the artistic fact in our community due to situations of social exclusion. The program is implemented in conjunction with cultural spaces of the Generalitat Valenciana and offers subsidized tickets to social entities that operate in this territory.

In September 2021, the IVC trusted Adonar as a partner organization for strategic advice and operational support in its implementation and evaluation.

Based on this, both entities co-designed the operating protocol and developed a seat reservation system to make the program accessible to social entities. Likewise, Adonar designed and implements the monitoring and evaluation system of Butaca Oberta and accompanies both social entities and cultural spaces in the use and appropriation of the designed tool.

Between September 2021 and December 2022, more than 45 entities have made use of the reservation system and more than 800 seats have been assigned to social entities, thus enabling people and groups at risk of exclusion to access the cultural offer.
